Beginnings

Don't recall which one of us blurted it out, whether it was Ed, Jeff or me, but, there it was, and it was an accurate description of what we had been saying and feeling.

For some time, actually in some form, for about a dozen years, an everchanging group of guys had been meeting to talk about and pray for a small Christian school in central Texas. At this moment in time, the group had morphed into three guys, a size with which we had become comfortable. The discussions, while sometimes still about the school, which has now grown to over 500 students, now have become about our desire to live our physical existence believing that at every moment, we are in the presence of God.

And it was as if in that moment, that God himself had revealed to us His desire for us. We really didn't just want to be good anymore! We recognized that anyone can be good, people do it all the time. We wanted to be more than that! We wanted to be faithful, holy, merciful, loving, and all of the other things that God created us to be.

But, now we could see it...the desire of God's heart for us... to be in relationship with Him and in His presence every moment of our physical existence.
